Welcome to the Oklahoma Junior Classical League Convention Program!

The Oklahoma Junior Classical League is the state chapter of the National Junior Classical League, an organization founded in 1936. The mission of NJCL is to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity.

The OKJCL is also dedicated to fostering a love of the Classical languages and cultures of Greece and Rome. We try to provide students with several opportunities to engage with other local Latin and Greek students by hosting Certamina, Ultimate Discus Tournaments and a large Spring Convention.

This website is the backbone of our Spring Convention. It is here that teachers register their chapters, students register as delegates, and parents and those friendly to OKJCL volunteer their time and efforts as chaperones. During Convention, this program helps us determine awards for the various competition offered in Arts, Academics and Athetics. After the Convention, teachers can access their student's achievements and see how each student placed in each event.

The 2017 Spring Convention will be held at Southmoore High School on Friday, March 24th and Saturday, March 25th. If you are a teacher interested in bringing your JCL Chapter to this Spring's Convention and you have any questions, please contact Sarah Whipple at
